3. Quattro river rally 2024 - day two
6. April 2024, Karlovac
Having rested from yesterday I once again headed to the rally in Karlovac. I planned to meet my
father and brother as usual, but this time my mother would be comming with us. I arrived a bit late thanks to
the bus schedule so we quickly went to the best availaible stage (timewise).
We headed to stage Mali Modruš Potok - Grdun.
It was a good choice and the woods were beautiful, just what my mother wished for out of relaxing Sunday. Of course the peace was broken
by the wonderfull sound's of rally cars, but I think she enyoed the cars too. Expecially the Renault Clio as she drives one!
We found a nice spot where we could see the cars comming downhill on a long bend, past us closely and over the jump.
The rally started and this were the first cars.
This are the best pictures of the first run. Afterwards we went for a drink in alocal pub as it was very hot outside.
We liked the spot and planned to return there. There were several gaps in incoming cars on the first run, most notably after the first few cars
passed we waited for about 10 minutes for the next one. We even got worried that the stage was going to be canceled.
Well, after the drink we foud what happend.
I heard that the co-driver was transported to hospital but it's nothing serious (not really sure about this info). I looked in the car and the
roll cage was thankfully intact. You can see the crash here: Kosler crash, it looks preatty brutal.
On our way to second pass we briefly considered a spot at the jump, but it was just too damn hot.
So our old spot it was.
And that was it. It was the last stage, the rally was over. But I noticed that the orange Skoda 130 didn't pass. It was my girfriend favorite car and the one both she and I cheered for.
It didn't smell good and soon I found what happened. A crash! Crash Kdér-Sladkovský Quattro river rally.
Everyone was okay and ready to race another time. It is the rally that is used for tranning for the upcoming Rally Croatia and as such
it attracts many crews, I reccomend everyone to come to this rally next year.
I have a question regarding one of the cars. One of the Mitsubishi Lancers smelled like flowers as it passed us, what fuel are they using?
Or did they just pick up some flowers along the way as my brother suggested :). Rally on!
